After finishing his professional education machining, Dirk started to work at Machinefabriek Wolthuis as mechanical machine operator. He was responsible for the automation of the machinery department. To extend his knowledge he finished the course 3D inventor. After a few years, he was responsible for the project management of many big projects of Wolthuis. He managed several projects building filter equipment for Twin Filter.
