Dutch Filtration Resolves Offshore Diesel Filtration Issues

One of our customers, an oil major, reached out to us regarding problems with their diesel filtration system offshore, which was manufactured by one of our competitors. The installed High Flow Particle Filters were analyzed and tested, revealing a significant deviation from the specified micron rating. This deviation caused problems downstream, clogging the coalescers. As a result, the two-year supply of expensive coalescers was depleted in less than a year.

The coalescers, which were in high demand due to this situation, were discontinued by the supplier. Therefore, our customer wanted to preserve their remaining stock as long as possible. This presented Dutch Filtration with an excellent opportunity to assist by providing our rental Dual Filter Unit¹ with our absolute filter cartridges². These cartridges are used by a wide range of customers across various industries. Our filters are extensively tested and proudly rated at an efficiency of Beta 5000 (99.98%). This means only 1 out of 5000 particles larger than the specified rating might pass through the filter.

With the rental Dual Filter Unit installed, the customer reported a significant increase in cleanliness and a notable extension in the lifespan of their coalescers. However, the customer still wanted to utilize their existing vessels, which represented a significant capital investment. In response, Dutch Filtration developed and manufactured custom FuelFlow High Flow Filters that fit their vessels precisely and maintained the same absolute rating as the filters in the rental Dual Filter Unit. In addition to providing a high-performing alternative, Dutch Filtration also delivered significant cost savings compared to the OEM filters.
